A big thank you to everyone who helped with “The Pit” Test Run! We appreciate the volunteers who were willing to jump into this exploratory project and help test whether simple tools like grappling hooks and magnets could remove debris before it interferes with dredging equipment. A special thank you to the boat captains who donated their time, boats, and fuel to make this possible, and to SOIRL and Commissioner Feltner for inviting Waterway Warriors to help explore this creative solution.
It was a great example of people coming together to try something new to help the lagoon. If the test proves successful, we may organize a larger volunteer effort in the future. Stay tuned!
