About two dozen awesome volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got to work at Barrel Bin Prep Day, turning 70 donated barrels into ready-to-install trash bins for spots all across Brevard County! From scrubbing and cleaning to cutting, drilling, and assembling with routers, drivers, and hand tools—everyone pitched in, had fun, and got the job done. Huge shoutout to Wiedmann Roofing for hauling the barrels, Tommy’s Express Car Wash for donating them, the City of Satellite Beach for letting us use their space, and Firehouse Subs and Beachside Bagel World for keeping us fueled with lunch and breakfast. What a day!
Special Note: A huge thank you to John and Brayden for the time, effort, and skill they put into creating the jigs that allowed us to safely and efficiently cut the tops off the barrels. They spent hours making sure everything was just right—and honestly, without their work, Barrel Bin Prep Day wouldn’t have been possible.
